Converse is an American shoe brand founded in 1908. Nike became its parent company in 2003. Popular product lines include the Chuck Taylor All-Star and One Star.
For many decades, Converse was the leading maker of athletic shoes in the United States. In 1923, they became associated with basketball player Charles "Chuck" Taylor. During World War II, the company produced footwear and clothing for the military. The company has produced special edition shoes featuring DC Comics characters, Dr. Seuss themes, numerous bands and singers, and Super Mario.
By the 1980s, Converses weren't just worn as basketball shoes. They were considered fashionable casual wear, too. They've appeared in films such as Back to the Future, Grease, Stand by Me, and I, Robot, and books like Life Is Stranger at Worthington High. A number of celebrities, including Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, have been spotted sporting Converses. The Cons line is also popular among skateboarders.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Converse
1. Use curved lines to outline the basic shape of the shoe. It should have four sides, with one corner not connected.
2. Draw a dome shape at the toe tip of the shoe, connecting the disconnected corner. Use a short straight line and a long curved line.
3. Draw a long curved line from the top of the shoe's side to the toe tip. This outlines the tongue and vamp.
4. Draw a curved line from the back of the shoe to the tongue, outlining the inner lining as it can be seen in the opening of the shoe. Then, draw a curved line parallel to the top of the shoe and the tongue. From this line, draw a pair of curved lines to the bottom of the shoe to indicate the classic double stitching.
5. Draw a long curved line from the heel of the shoe to the toe tip. This outlines the outer sole. Draw a pair of curved lines across the sole below the vamp. Then, draw a curved line parallel to the base of the shoe.
6. Draw circles along the side of the tongue area. These are the eyelets through which the laces will pass.
7. Enclose irregular curved shapes overlapping the eyelets and the top of the shoe. These indicate the shoelaces.
8. From the uppermost eyelet, extend a pair of long curved lines downward. Attach them at the end. Then, extend two short curved lines, and attach them with a straight line. This indicates the untied shoelace. Use a curved line to enclose a shape at the top liner, at the back of the shoe.
9. Draw a circle on the side of the shoe, with a five-pointed star inside it. This is the brand logo. Then, enclose a boomerang shape below the laces, and use curved lines to texture the toe tip and sole.
